ALTAF HUSSAIN GRIEVED AT INCIDENTS OF VIOLENCE AND KILLINGS IN KARACHI DURING STRIKE

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his profound and sorrow incidents of violence in various parts of Karachi resulting in the death and injuries of several people. Mr Altaf Hussain said that he is grieved at the manner in which armed terrorists open fired on people and used force and intimidation to get the markets closed. He deplored that even women were not spared and their jewelleries were by the bandits and terrorists set vehicles on fire without any fear.
Mr Altaf Hussain expressed his sympathies with the families of those killed and injured in incidents of violence in the city and appealed to the people of Karachi for restraint and not get provoked by the barbaric actions of the armed terrorists. He asked MQM workers and office-bearers to stay calm and face the situation with patience.


 

MQM STRONGLY CONDEMNS INCIDENTS OF VIOLENCE AND INCENDIARISM

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement has denounced the incidents of violence and incendiarism in Sindh particularly in Karachi in which innocent citizens were killed and injured. They said that the manner in which the armed terrorists, with full backing of the government, resorted to firing upon innocent people in Sindh and its capital Karachi, forced the markets to close shops and burned vehicles should be a moment of thought for the people of Sindh. The deplored the fact that armed bandits went on a rampage in the city people were deprived of cash and jewellery at the gunpoint and subjected to physical torture.
They said that the people of Sindh and particularly Karachi have braved lawlessness and mayhem under official patronage in the past as well with perseverance and they will once again vile efforts to destroy the peace through peace and patience. They appealed to the people of Sindh to wake up from their deep slumber and remain alert to protect Sindh and its capital Karachi. They also asked the people to break their silence and inform the human rights organizations throughout the world about incidents of violence and terrorism. They said that the ways of God are silent but a day will come when the tyrants will be held accountable for all their misdeeds.
Meanwhile the members of the Co-ordination Committee kept a close watch on the events unfolding in the wake of strike call by the Peoples Party. Members of the Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan discussed about the unfortunate events of violence and torture and exchanged views on the future line of action.
