MQM OBTAINED HEAVIEST MANDATE OVER ALL OTHER POLITICAL
AND RELIGIOUS PARTIES IN THE ELECTIONS 2008

 

  1. MQM is the only Party of the Country which obtained more seats as compared to the previous Elections; where as all other political / religious parties have not been able to increase their seats. For example PPP in 1977 elections got 115 seats in the National Assembly; in 1988 it got 92 Seats whereas in the recent Elections it obtained only 87 seats.

    In 1993 Elections PML-N obtained 73 seats in the National Assembly and in 1997 Elections it obtained 137 seats whereas in the recent elections PML-N has obtained only 69 seats

    PML-Q in 2002 Elections obtained 118 seats in the National Assembly and in the recent Elections only 41 seats has been obtained .Awami National Party in 1977 Elections has obtained 10 seats in the National Assembly whereas in the recent Elections it has obtained only 9 seats in the National Assembly. MQM is the only Party which obtained more seats as compared to its past performance. In past Elections of 1990 MQM obtained 15 seats in the National Assembly which was the highest number of seats for MQM before the Election of 2008 but in the recent Elections it has increased its strength and has obtained 19 seats which is more than its past performance.
     
  2. The candidate who bagged the maximum votes in the country in National Assembly is Sufyan Yousuf of MQM who has obtained 186933 votes and created historical record.
     
  3. In the whole country only 22 candidates obtained more then 100,000 votes and out of these 22 candidates 13 candidates belong to the MQM.
     
  4. The first 9 out of the 10  candidates who obtained the maximum votes in the country belong to the MQM
     
  5. In the whole country the only candidate of Provincial Assembly who secured more than 100,000 votes belong to the MQM. Zubair Ahmed Khan from Hyderabad obtained 1,11,108 votes for Provincial Assembly seat.
     
  6. MQM has increased its votes bank as compared to its past. In the recent Elections of 2008, only in Sindh, MQM has obtained 2583757 votes, whereas from Punjab, where MQM contested the Elections for the first time has obtained more than 50,000 votes.
     
  7. MQM is on number four on the basis of votes obtained after PPP, PML-N and PML-Q.
     
  8. MQM is the only party of the country whose candidates have won with biggest margins against their opponent and the difference of votes between the MQM candidates and the runner ups the is highest difference in the country.
     
  9. In Sindh PPP obtained 3576614 votes whereas MQM obtained 2583757 votes. The only difference between the two parties is 992857 votes.
     
  10. In Sindh out of 61 National Assembly seats, PPP obtained only 30 seats whereas the rest of the seats in National Assembly have been obtained by MQM and its coalition partner in the previous government.
     
  11. The number of votes obtained by the coalition partner of previous government in Sindh is more than the votes secured by the PPP in Sindh.

  1. The percentage of votes obtained by the PPP is 41.09 % whereas the ex allied parties in Sindh government obtained 50.68% votes.
     
  2. The total votes obtained by PPP in the whole of the country are 10546725, PML-Q on second number obtained 8030674 votes
    PML (N ) obtained 6743437 votes and the MQM obtained 2583757 votes only in Sindh, if we sum up the votes of the ex allied
    parties in the last government than the number of votes obtained is much more than the votes obtained by PPP.

14. MQM is the only party of the country which fielded poor, middle class and working class candidates in Elections and there is no feudal (Wadera, Jagirdar) amongst them.
