MQM DEMANDS GOVERNMENT TO TAKE IMMEDIATE NOTICE OF
BRAZEN ACTS OF TERRORISM AND KILLINGS IN KARACHI

KARACHI: 15TH JUNE 2011

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has expressed serious concerns over the unabated wanton acts of terrorism in Orangi Town, Qasba Aligarh and other parts of the city and the killing of several workers of the MQM along with innocent citizens. The Committee said that the armed terrorists belonging to the land mafia, weapons mafia, and the criminals had been resorting to heavy firing in Qasba Aligarh, Orangi Town, and other parts of the city. The terrorists had occupied Rangers check posts from where they are firing at the Urdu speaking localities and throwing petrol bombs. The people had been confined to their homes as a result of unremitting acts of terrorism and violence and a number of houses have been damaged.

The Co-ordination Committee said that the elected representatives of the MQM were constantly informing the local police and administration about the violence and unbridled terrorism being directed against the common people. The terrorists had been emboldened to such an extent that even the personnel belonging to police and other law-enforcing agencies were not safe from heavy fire.

The Co-ordination Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take immediate notice of the brazen acts of terrorism, killings and mayhem by the terrorists belonging to the land mafia, weapons, mafia and hardcore criminals. They said that the Rangers check post in control of the terrorists should be regained and the bloodthirsty killers should face the full power of the law.

The Committee also offered its condolences over the deaths of several innocent people including the MQM workers. They also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
