MQM WILL MAKE KASHMIR ONE OF THE PROSPEROUS REGIONS OF THE WORLD: ALTAF HUSSAIN

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has asked the people of Kashmir to give the MQM a chance and it will make Kashmir on the prosperous regions of the world. He said that the MQM was the only political party that came forward for helping the people of Kashmir after the earthquake that created devastation in Kashmir on large scale. He said that only the workers, office-bearers and leaders faced hardships of weather but continued to help the affected people of Kashmir in selfless manner. Mr Hussain said that only the people who work without any greed and those who had themselves faced hardships and difficulties could know the problems of others people. He was addressing a huge gathering of Kashmiri people in Mahmoodabad regarding elections for the legislative assembly of Kashmir.

Mr Hussain that if the people of Kashmir voted for the MQM then the MQM would work strenuously for making Kashmir one of the prosperous region of the world. He said that the long-standing Kashmir dispute would be resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. He said that neither India nor Pakistan should decide the fate of the people of Kashmir without taking into consideration the wishes and legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He asserted that the destiny of Kashmir should be decided by the people of Kashmir alone.

Mr Hussain said that the people of Kashmir were divided on both sides of the border. They had to face innumerable problems in meeting their family members across the border. He said that the MQM would introduce legislation and empower the people of Kashmir to resolve the Kashmir dispute according to their wishes. He also said that the MQM would raise the voice of the Kashmiri people throughout the world.

Mr Hussain said that some political parties were claiming that they would change the fate of Kashmiri people if they came to power. He said that these political parties had been in power in Kashmir in the past several times but they did nothing to improve the condition of the people of Kashmir.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM was a political party representing the poor and middle class people and will change the fate of the oppressed and downtrodden people throughout the country.

Speaking about the release of people from the captivity of Somali pirates he said that the MQM and the philanthropic people of Pakistan worked for getting the release of all the people despite the fact that there were only four Pakistani captives. He made appeal to the Indian government, Indian leaders, journalists, intellectuals and analysts to take advantage of the opportunity offered in the release of the Indian captives and make a new beginning for living like good brotherly neighbours.

Mr Hussain appealed to the people to get united. He said that if only we could unite we could change the fate of the country. He asked them to make the MQM candidates successful on 26^th January by stamping on “Kite”.

He asked the MQM candidates to work selflessly for the people of Kashmir after being elected.
