TELEPHONIC CONVERSATION BETWEEN ALTAF HUSSAIN AND PRESIDENT ZARDARI

President Asif Ali Zardari and Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) have had telephonic conversation on Tuesday night. Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad was also present on the occasion. President Zardari thanked Mr Altaf Hussain for asking Dr Ebad to take back his resignation and to resume his responsibilities as Governor Sindh. President Zardari said that Dr Ebad has acquitted himself well as the governor of the province and the decision of take back his resignation has been widely praised by the public at large. President Zardari also assured Mr Hussain that all the grievances of the MQM would be removed and the problems would be solved. Mr Hussain said that the MQM wanted peace, harmony, unity and solidarity among all the ethnic entities and segments of the society in Sindh including Karachi. Mr Hussain assured the president that the MQM would play its role for restoring peace and stability in Sindh including Karachi. He said that the MQM would extend full support to every government endeavor for bringing peace and stability in Sindh.  

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN APPEALS KASHMIRI PEOPLE TO MAKE THE MQM CANDIDATES SUCCESSFUL

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the Kashmiri people living within the limits of constituencies LA – 30 and LA – 36 to return the MQM candidates Tahir Khokhar and Saleem Butt with big majority in the elections for the Azad Jammu & Kashmir legislative assembly. He appealed to the Kashmir people living in these constituencies that they were united under the flag of the MQM to bring to an end the corrupt feudal system and unrestrained capitalism. Mr Hussain also thanked Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and President of Muslim Conference Sardar Atique Ahmed for withdrawing their candidates from LA – 30 and LA - 36 in favour of the MQM candidates. He said that the goodwill gesture shown will also be remembered by the MQM.

 

MQM WELCOMES WITHDRAWAL OF PPP CANDIDATES

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has welcomed the decision by the Pakistan People’s Party to withdraw its candidates for election to the legislative assembly of Kashmir in favour of the MQM. The committee said that the decision will strengthen the policy of reconciliation and improve the working relations between the MQM and the PPP.

 

MQM CONDEMNS MURDEROUS ATTACK ON LABOUR DIVISION IN-CHARGE

The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the murderous attack on in-charge of Labour Division of the MQM in Sakrand and has demanded the arrest of the perpetrators of the attack. The committee said that the elements that do not want the ambience of peace, brotherhood and solidarity in Sindh were behind the dastardly attack. These elements wanted to pit the permanent residents against each other. The committee sympathized with Mr Anwer Saleem and prayed for his health and speedy recovery. The committee also appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take serious notice of the attack on in-charge of the Labour Division of the MQM and to bring the culprits to book.
