ALTAF HUSSAIN THANKS PEOPLE FOR OBSERVING THE MOURNING DAY

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has praised the people for observing a successful “day of mourning” against unending terrorism, violence and mayhem in Karachi. Speaking to the members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Hussain commended the manner in which the people expressed unity with the people in Kati Pahari area, Orangi Town, Qasba Colony, Aligarh Colony and Gulfamabad, on the burning of houses and firing on public transport buses and looting and plundering of houses. Mr Hussain also thanked the business community, traders, shopkeepers and transporters for voluntarily suspending their business activities for observing the day of mourning.

Mr Hussain also thanked the heads of armed forces and intelligence agencies for coming to the help of people who were being subjected to terrorism, violence and bloodshed. He also praised the Rangers for risking their lives in taking action against the terrorists on the Kati Pahari. He said that the action taken by the Rangers has given relief to the people who were stranded because of the unending terrorism.

Mr Hussain also praised the co-ordination committee, elected representatives, office-bearers and workers of various wings of the MQM and the haq parast people for remaining united in the hour of need.

Mr Hussain asked the co-ordination committee to formulate a policy on the revival of commissionerate system. He said that he would inform the public on the commissionerate system soon by calling a workers convention throughout the country.
