ALTAF HUSSAIN ASKS GOVERNOR LATIF KHOSA TO CURB RISING CRIMES IN PUNJAB

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has said that MQM can free the country of the crutches of foreign aid. He called upon all patriotic forces in the country to come forward and play their role for making independent and autonomous policies for the country. He was talking to Governor Punjab Latif Khosa on his arrival at MQM Head Office Nine Zero. Deputy Convener of Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar, Senior Provincial Minister Pir Mazharul Haque and Provincial Law Minister Ayaz Soomro were also present on the occasion.

Mr Altaf Hussain welcomed Governor Punjab and stressed upon him to play his role in improving law and order situation in Punjab and to curb the rising incidents of crimes against women, kidnappings and other heinous crimes. He offered full co-operation for improving relations between Punjab and Sindh and assured Governor Punjab that MQM would always be a step ahead in taking practical steps for removing misgivings and promoting fraternal relations between the two provinces.

Mr Altaf Hussain said that the government must also cut expenses by adopting austerity measures instead of passing on all the hardships to the public. He said that the government must reduce non-developmental expenses by 90 per cent.

Mr Altaf Hussain said that people in Punjab and other parts of the country were caught in the clutches of exploitative forces and were faced with the ever increasing burdens of inflation and unemployment. He said that we must all make serious and united effort for the welfare of the people and country. Mr Altaf Hussain hoped that Governor Punjab would reach out to the oppressed people by opening his gates to them.

Governor Latif Khosa said that the struggle of Altaf Hussain was a source of inspiration and assured his full co-operation in controlling crime in Punjab. He said PPP would carry forward the mission of Benazir Bhutto and Altaf Hussain and work for providing relief to the people of Pakistan. He said that PPP wanted to end the age-old system through legal and constitutional steps.

  

ALTAF HUSSAIN GRIEVED AT NOORIABAD ACCIDENT

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his extreme grief over the accident on Super Highway near Nooriabad in which 32 people Burnett alive. He offered his condolences to the family members whose loved ones died in the tragic incidents. Mr Altaf Hussain asked public representatives belonging to MQM to visit the houses of those who were killed in the accident and offer condolences on his behalf.

Earlier on getting the news on the accident Zonal Organizer of MQM haiderabad Zone Muhammad Sharif, MNA Salahuddin and doctors of Medical Aid Committee reached the spot and took part in rescue efforts. KKF ambulances took part in shifting the injured to a hospital in Jamshoro where they were given medical attention. Dead bodies have been shifted to Edhi Centre in Karachi were MQM public representatives, workers and KKF volunteers are present to provide every possible assistance to the bereaved families.
