They said that the province has become a Police State under the present provincial government.

Quoting incidents of crimes the Committee said that a woman was mercilessly done to death in Khanewal on the charges of adultery, three men were injured in incidents of street crimes in Lahore Cantt and T&T Colony, another man was injured in Shadman Town area after being deprived of money and valuables, a factory worker was shot and injured by dacoits in Green Town area when he did not stop motor cycle at their instruction, dacoits made away with Police weapon in Mian Channu, there were 14 incidents of dacoities in kasur and a police constable was murdered on resistance, mother of three children was buried in fields after being brutally murdered, a seven year girl was criminally assaulted by gangsters in Sheikhupura and the Police were protecting the culprits and two innocent children were abducted in Sialkot.

The severity of condition can be judged from the fact that at least 139 people committed suicide in the previous month alone. The Co-ordination Committee questioned the Punjab Government about the steps it was taking to provide security to the life and property of the people. The Co-ordination Committee said that the revolutionary message of MQM has gained acceptance in the lower middle class and middle class people of the Punjab and the days of feudalism and injustices were numbered. The central Co-ordination Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take serious notice of the deplorable condition of law and order in the Punjab and take action to provide justice to the people.
