TERRORISTS WANT TO PULL THE COUNTRY APART: ALTAF HUSSAIN

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has condemned the blast in a van in District Hangu of Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa in which 18 people lost their lives. Mr Altaf Hussain said that the merciless attack on civilian targets was a clear indication of the fact that the terrorists wanted to weaken the country. Mr Altaf Hussain said that the only way to save the country from falling apart would be the united effort of the country against the menace of terrorism. “The Army, paramilitary forces, police, frontier constabulary were doing a fine work but unless the people of the country come forward and show unflinching solidarity, the terrorism cannot be weeded out from the country.”

Mr Altaf Hussain emphasized that it was not the time to keep our fingers crossed and wait for some miracle to happen. “Angels would not descend to change our fate, we as a nation must carve our destiny because Allah has Himself spoken in His eternal message that He does change the fate of those who do not change themselves”.

Mr Altaf Hussain sympathized with the families of those who lost their lives prayed for their eternal bliss.

MESSAGE ON 107TH BIRTHDAY OF G M SYED

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement(MQM) has felicitated the people of Sindh on the 107th birthday of G M Syed. He said that G M Syed was a true and patriotic leader who always struggled peacefully for the rights of the people of Sindh. He said that G M Syed remained steadfast throughout his life. And the hardships and incarcerations could not deviate him from his struggle. Mr Altaf Hussain paid rich tributes to G M Syed and eulogized his services for the people of Sindh.

 

 

DELEGATION OF YOUTHS FROM PUNJAB VISITS NINE ZERO

KARACHI: 17TH JANUARY 2011

A delegation of youths from Punjab called upon members of Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement at Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall and told them about the law and order situation in there.  The delegation informed the Co-ordination Committee that Punjab was transformed into a Police State and the deteriorating condition of law and order could be judged from the fact that the Governor of the province was shot dead by his own police guard. The Co-ordination Committee was informed about an incident in which houses of several people were set on fire in Rawalpindi and but the Police stood by doing nothing. They were told that crime against women, murderers, robberies, theft and other serious crimes have become the order of the day and the rulers, instead of providing security to the general public, were busy in increasing their security. The delegation informed the Committee that the dismal situation was creating a sense of frustration in the minds of the people.

The Central Co-ordination Committee welcomed the arrival of the delegation at Nine Zero and showed them around to different wings of the party. Central co-ordination committee told the delegation that MQM was studiously working to spread its presence in Punjab and so far offices have been working in 56 districts of the province. The delegation also visited the Monument of Martyrs and paid rich tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for a better future.

 

MQM MNAs CALL FOR ARMY IN KHYBER PAKHTOONKHWAH

KARACHI: 17TH JANUARY 2011:

Members of National Assembly of Muttahida Quami Movement Wasim Akhter and Dr Ayub Shaikh have condemned the attack in a van in Hangu in which more than 17 people lost their lives and demanded that Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah be handed over to the Army in order to control the unchecked terrorist activities. The MNAs said that the Government of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah has failed miserably in providing the life and property of the people of the province and hence Army should be called in to restore law and order, normalcy and for bringing peace to the province.

The MNAs said that bomb blasts, suicide attacks, killing of police and security personnel in large numbers have become the order of the day in the province. The said that instead of taking steps to eradicate the menace of terrorism that has claimed the lives of thousands of people in the province, the provincial government was busy in loot and plunder of the resources of the province. The level of corruption in the province can be gauged from the recent report of Transparency International. They said that in order to protect the life and property of the people of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah should be handed over to the Army.
