ANP IS
STOCKING LINGUISTIC RIOTS IN KARACHI
FAISAL SABZWARI
Emergency Press Conference at Khursheed Begum Hall Azizabad
Karachi: 14TH January 2011
Deputy Parliamentary Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement in the Provincial assembly of Sindh has said that drug peddlers and extortion groups were bent upon destroying the peace in Karachi. Addressing an emergency press conference in the backdrop of the brutal assassination of Geo News reporter Wali Khan Babar Faisal Sabzwari said there was a deep rooted conspiracy to create law and order situation in Karachi in order to bring to a halt the wheel of industrial and commercial activities and harm the economy of the country.
He
said, “On the one hand ANP leader Bashir Jan and his colleagues are injured in
an attack and on the other hand Wali Khan Babar of is martyred. Soon after these
incidents armed terrorist go on a shooting rampage killing more than 21 Urdu
speaking people and injuring many in Orangi Town, Banaras, Kati Pahari, Rabia
City and other parts of the city.”
He
said, “Wali Khan was covering the operation by Rangers, Police and other
law-enforcing agencies in Pahlwan Goth against ANP and Mudassir Chief Group. He
was assassinated by terrorists in Liaquatabad area when he was coming to his
home in North Nazimabad after filing his coverage report. Soon after these
tragic incidents armed terrorists started firing indiscriminately on buses and
other vehicles resulting in the death of a number of Urdu speaking people and
serious injuries to many. The terrorists struck with brazen assurance which
should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.”
Faisal Sabzwari questioned ANP leadership to inform the nation about the reasons
of deteriorating law and order situation and unrest in Pahlwan Goth. “Who are
the people ANP terrorists are fighting with? Who are the criminals that have
taken the lives of a number of innocent people there? What does ANP want to gain
by its terrorists activities there?”
Faisal Sabzwari said that if the answers to these questions are found with
honesty and sincerity of purpose then not only the assassins of Wali Khan Babar
would be identified but the hidden faces behind target killings, murders, and
worsening law and order situation would also be identified. Wali Khan Babar was
eliminated because of his professional reporting of the criminal activities and
the operation of the law-enforcing agencies against the hardened criminals who
enjoy complete blessings of ANP leadership.
Faisal Sabzwari said that the allegation of ANP leader and Provincial Minister
Mian Iftakhar against MQM was not only unfortunate but worthy of being strongly
condemned. If the premise of ANP leader in accusing MQM was correct then Mian
Iftakhar must know that Bashir Jan was attacked at Mikasa Apartment where ANP
terrorist have created a wave of terror and Pilot of Chief Minister Sindh Iqbal
Kashmiri was killed near Rabia City a den of ANP.
Faisal Sabzwari said that ANP has failed miserably in controlling the law and
order situation in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah. “ANP is stoking linguistic riots in
Karachi by misleading unsuspecting Pakhtoons”. He asked ANP leadership to
refrain from inflaming the situation by issuing irresponsible statements.
Condemning the murder of Wali Khan Babar, Major (r) Iqbal Kashmiri and many other innocent citizens he demanded impartial inquiry into the murder of Wali Khan Babar. He demanded President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh to take notice of the murder of several innocent Urdu speaking people
