When the difficult times came during struggle of the movement spanning over a period of 35 years and mere affiliation with the MQM was made a grave crime, the women came forward and uplifted the flag of the MQM. They opened Nine Zero and worked courageously.

They were trampled upon by the horses, subjected to ill-treatment in the jails but they did not lose hope and carried the mission and objective of the movement forward. Mr Hussain paid glowing tributes to the women for their relentless struggle and said that they would once again make a history by organizing a grand public meeting in Bagh-i-Jinnah on the 19th February. He appealed to the women belonging to different spheres of life and social spectrum to rise above the distinctions of religion and nationalities in order to demonstrate that they were one.
