CORRUPTION AND NEPOTISM HAVE SAPPED STRENGTH FROM
 EVERY GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LONDON: 18TH FEBRUARY 2011

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has said that MQM is the only political party that can bring the country out of the abyss of financial and economic problems and provide a sincere leadership. He was talking to workers and office-bearers at MQM Lahore Zone office. He held big landowners, fuedals and capitalists responsible for the plight of the country.

“They robbed the country with both hands whenever they came to power and instead of giving attentions to the problems being faced by the people and concentrated on increasing their wealth. It is ironical that these venal elements make tall claims about rights of people on television channels.”

“If a revolution of the poor and middle class comes in the country every single rupee acquired through dishonest means will be recovered and huge properties made through ill-gotten money will be converted into schools, colleges and health centres.”

“Corruption, nepotism and utter disregard of merit constitute the disease that has sapped strength from every department of the government. Even sports like hockey and cricket have fallen victim of corruption. It is the corruption that has made Pakistan subservient to foreign powers and forced us into a state of continued beggary.”

“As long as corruption and nepotism are not rooted out there can no hope for an economic turnaround and reducing the disparity between the rich and poor. If MQM comes to power corruption and nepotism would end and appointments will be made purely on merit instead of family ties and personal relationships. MQM will do away with double standards in education and other fields of life.”

“The fact that a large number of people are joining MQM in small villages, tehsils, and districts is an indicative of the fact that MQM has become the epicentre of hope for the poor and middle class people in the country. People now believe that only MQM can salvage the country quagmire of problems.”
