GOVERNMENT SHOULD DISPENSE JUSTICE IN RAYMOND DAVIS CASE: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LONDON: 7TH FEBRUARY 2011

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement has expressed his deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of the Shumaila whose husband Faheem was killed by Raymond Davis in Lahore in a firing incident. He regretted that instead of giving justice to the family of those who were killed by Raymond Davis pressure was being brought to bear upon the families to withdraw their cases. This undue pressure made Shumaila believe that she would not get justice and hence she chose to commit suicide in extreme frustration. The family members of the other man Faizan have also threatened that they would also commit suicide if justice was not done. Mr Altaf Hussain offered his condolences to the bereaved families and demanded of the government to fulfill legal and constitutional requirement in the dispensation of justice.
