MQM WILL LEAD THE PUBLIC REVOLUTION: ALTAF HUSSAIN
MQM IS THE ONLY PARTY THAT GIVES DIGNITY TO ITS WORKERS

LONDON: 31ST DECEMBER 2011
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that a public revolution for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and for bringing a change in the circumstances of the poor and middle class people would definitely come in the country. He declared that the revolution would come under the truly representative political party of the poor and middle class people, the MQM. He said this while talking to the officials of MQM Sukkur Zone and different wings, including the elected representatives.

Mr Hussain said that when he had talked about a revolution on the pattern of the French Revolution, he was ridiculed by the religious and political leaders, and certain analysts and columnists. He added that there was no political party in Pakistan today that did not talk about revolution now. He said that it was a reality that the revolutions were not brought by feudal lords. It were always the oppressed and exploited people facing hardships and extreme problems that had brought revolutions.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM is the only political party in the country in which workers were given honour and dignity. In MQM the workers are given opportunities to contest in elections according to merit whereas in other political parties the workers were ignored and demeaned. He said that it was the victory of the philosophy of the MQM that other political parties were also beginning to think about their workers.

Addressing the Women Wing, Mr Hussain said that in the days of jahiliyyah baby girls were buried alive at their birth. The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) declared it a major sin and termed it a heartless murder. He (PBUH) said that the women should be considered as a source of mercy and not a source of trouble. He said that the MQM is the only political party in the country where women were given the utmost respect and honour. The MQM has given equal opportunities to women in every sphere of life, and it was because of the struggle of the MQM that laws against karo-kary, vani, and marriage with the Quran were passed by the Sindh Assembly.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM had submitted a resolution in the National Assembly for the creation of new provinces keeping in view the wishes and aspirations of the people of Seraiki belt and Hazara. He said that the people were very happy, and they were taking out rallies in support of the MQM.

Speaking about the upcoming MQM Convention in Sukkur, he said the MQM was starting the 2012 with a big public meeting in Sukkur and the success of the Sukkur Convention would ensure success for all other MQM meetings. He said that the workers would have to work hard for the Sukkur convention.
