PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ARE INTEGRAL PART OF THE SOCIETY: ALTAF HUSSAIN

MESSAGE ON THE OCCASION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

LONDON: 3^RD DECEMBER 2011:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the people with disabilities are an integral part of the society and they should not be considered a burden. In a message on the occasion of the “International Day of People with Disabilities” on 3^rd December Mr Hussain said that special institutions should be established in the country for the welfare of special people in order to make them a useful part of the society.

Mr Hussain said that the incidence of disability in Pakistan was nearly 7 percent as compared to other parts of the world where it stood around 10 percent according to a report published by the WHO. People with disabilities are given special attention in the developed countries, and they have equal opportunities to live a good and healthy life.

Mr Hussain said that the federal as well as the provincial governments must take steps for the rehabilitation of the disabled people in the society. He also called for strict adherence of the 2 per cent job quota for the disabled people.

ALTAF HUSSAIN FELICITATES PEOPLE OF UAE ON THE 40^TH NATIONAL DAY

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has felicitated the president of United Arab Emirates Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, vice president Shaikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Supreme Council and the people of the UAE on the occasion of their 40^th National Day. In a congratulatory message to President Al Nahyan Mr Hussain prayed for the progress and advancement of the UAE under his leadership.

DELEGATION OF APHA VISITS KHURSHEED BEGUM SECRETARIAT

KARACHI: 3^RD DECEMBER 2011:

A delegation of the Association of the Physically Handicapped Adults (APHA) visited Khursheed Begum Secretariat of the MQM and met Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar. Members of the Co-ordination Committee Kunwar Khalid Yunus and Wasay Jalil were also present on the occasion.

The delegation informed Dr Sattar about the problems being faced by the people with disabilities. They stressed upon the need education, health and other basic facilities for the disabled and physically handicapped people in order to make them a useful part of the society.

Dr Sattar said that the MQM leader Altaf Hussain wanted the disabled people to become useful part of the society in the country. He said that the laws relating to the disabled people should be implemented in letter and spirit for uplifting their standard.
