CHANGING NATIONAL FLAG AND DISFIGURING IT IS EQUAL TO SUBVERSION: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LONDON: 2^ND DECEMBER 2011:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the desecration and disfiguring of the national flag during protest demonstrations against the US and NATO forces attack and termed it a subversive act. He said that the entire nation was grieved at the martyrdom of officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army by the bombing of the NATO forces on Pakistani border posts and they were protesting over it.

Mr Hussain said that a time when the entire country was expressing solidarity with the Pakistan, the attempt by certain religious parties to desecrate the national flag was highly reprehensible. He said that at a time when grave threats were looming on the border these so-called religious organizations were giving a signal to the enemies of the country to change the flag of the country.

Mr Hussain emphasized upon President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, and Director General of the ISI to take serious notice of the disfiguring of the national flag and register cases against the responsible people according to the law of the land. He said that if they were not able to take any action against desecration and disfiguring of the national flag, then these persons holding high offices should tender resignation from their posts for the honour of the country.  

Mr Hussain appealed to the nation to take notice of the conspiracy to change the shape of the national flag and disfiguring it. He also called for unity in order to frustrate these conspiracies.
