MQM CONDEMNS HIKE IN POL PRICES AND CLOSURE OF CNG STATIONS

KARACHI: 1ST DECEMBER 2011

The MQM parliamentarians have expressed their concerns over the closure of CNG filling stations in Karachi for two consecutive days that has brought the public transport off the roads. They said that the closure of the CNG stations had hit the city badly and day to day affairs in the city were disturbed due to non-availability of the CNG. They said that the decision to close the CNG stations for two days consecutively was inappropriate and it should be reversed.

Meanwhile the Co-ordination committee of the MQM has strongly condemn the hike in the POL prices and termed it against the common people. The committee said that increase in the POL prices will bring in its fold a new wave of price hikes that would aggravate the problems of the poor people.

The Co-ordination Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani to take back the increase in the POL prices. The committee said that steps should be taken to provide relief to the common people instead of compounding their problems.
