MQM CONVENTION IN SUKKUR WILL BE THE LARGEST IN THE HISTORY OF THE CITY: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LONDON: 28TH DECEMBER 2011:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM convention in Sukkur will be the largest in the history of the city. He said this while talking to the members of the zonal committees of the Sukkur and Jacobabad zones of the party on the telephone.

Officials of Sukkur zone informed Mr Hussain that there was great enthusiasm in the workers and the public about the convention in Sukkur. Mr Hussain said that the world would see that the Sukkur convention would be the largest ever in the history of the city.

Mr Hussain appealed to the public, students, women, and the younger generation to prove that the Sindh was united by making this convention historic. He also appealed to the people belonging to various ethnic groups living in and around Sukkur to show their unity by standing against the medieval feudal system and participate in the MQM convention in big numbers.

Mr Hussain also appealed to the Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, and people belonging to different other religious entities to exhibit inter-faith unity and participate in the MQM convention.

 

 ALTAF HUSSAIN CONDEMNS MURDER OF MUFTI ABDUL SAMAD SOOMRO

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of Mufti Abdus Samad Soomro of Jamia Binoria and termed it as an attempt to fan sectarian strife in the city. Mr Hussain said that Mufti Samad had played an active role for bringing sectarian harmony in the city. He said that the murder of Mufti Samad was grave moment of thought for the government as well as the public. He offered his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family members and followers of Mufti Samad and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He demanded President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of the shocking murder of Mufti Samad and arrest the killers. He said that adequate security arrangements should be made for the religious scholars.

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN CONGRATULATES NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS OF NATIONAL PRESS CLUB ISLAMABAD

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has congratulated the Journalists Panel in the elections of National Press Club Islamabad. He said that the media has brought about public awareness and hoped that the newly elected official of the press club would work for the welfare of the journalist community and ensure their impartiality. He congratulated the newly elected president Farooq Faisal Khan, secretary Shahryar Khan, secretary finance Afzal Jawed and other members of the panels.
