DELICATE SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY CANNOT AFFORD CONFRONTATION: ALTAF HUSSAIN

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has discussed the current political situation, challenges facing the country and other important issues in a telephonic conversation with President Asif Zardari. Mr Hussain expressed his concerns over the strained relations among important and sensitive institutions of the state. He said that the present delicate situation of the country cannot afford such confrontation.
Mr Hussain said it was his sincere advice as a Pakistani that all the stakeholders should remove misunderstandings and try to formulate policies in the larger interest of democracy, strengthening democratic institutions and protecting the national-security institutions.
Mr Hussain said that it was our responsibility to ensure the prestige of our national institutions responsible for the national security. We must all handle the current sensitive situation prudently and ensure harmonious relations between the institutions.
President Zardari agreed with the views of Mr Hussain and said that the government would not take any action against the interest of the country and the nation. Mr Hussain prayed for the health of the president who in turn expressed his well-wishes for Mr Hussain.
