EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE MQM CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

An emergency meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in Pakistan and London was held simultaneously today. The meeting took into account the collective economic and political situation in the country and discussed about future line of action for the progress and welfare of public. The meeting resolved to work for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, elimination of terrorism, promotion of the politics of reconciliation and basic problems being faced by the public through dialogues and by rising above political differences. The meeting stressed the need for continuing the democratic process and said that all political parties must play their roles for strengthening democratic institutions. The meeting also impressed upon the political parties to identify blackguards in their ranks and file and called for forming monitoring committees to check the activities of such elements that cause disagreements among political parties. The meeting said that such elements should be identified and it should also be established if they are working for the interests of their parties or playing into the hands someone else. It was said in the meeting that the MQM was a peaceful political party that believed in bringing a revolution to empower the poor and middle-class people through peaceful means. It was said that the MQM would continue to play its role for the continuance of democratic process and for bringing peace and stability at every level.
