PRIME MINISTER SHOULD RESIGN IF HE IS UNABLE TO STOP BLOODBATH OF MOHAJIRS: ALTAF HUSSAIN

LONDON: 22ND AUGUST 2011

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has asked Prime Minister Gillani to step down if he was unable to stop the bloodshed on innocent Mohajirs in Karachi. In a statement Mr Hussain said that he had informed the Prime Minister a number of times about the terrorist elements responsible for destroying peace in Karachi. He said that the small business holders, traders, industrialists, transporters, journalists, media persons, camera men, photographers, and common citizens were hit by the violent activities of the terrorist elements directly or indirectly, but it was unfortunate that no action was taken against these terrorist elements. He said that the inhuman bloodshed of innocent citizens continued in Karachi ceaselessly.

Mr Hussain asked how long the citizens and the people at the helm of affairs would remain silent spectators to the incidents of terrorism. I, therefore, demand of President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani to stop the savage killings and chopping of the bodies of the innocent citizens of Karachi and bring to justice the fiendish killers. He said that it would be his sincere and brotherly advice to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani to resign his office if he was unable to get his orders implemented towards bringing peace and stability in Karachi. The Prime Minister should step down from his office to save himself from the blame of the bloodbath of the Mohajirs.
