RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS CALLING THE SITUATION IN KARACHI AS A FIGHTING
BETWEEN TWO GROUPS SHOULD COME UP WITH A CLEAR CUT STANCE

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned and deplored the statement by certain religious scholars bracketing the ferocious killers and the helpless Muhajirs that were slaughtered without any remorse in Karachi. Mr Hussain said that the scholars who were calling the abduction of Muhajirs, their fiendish slaughter, and throwing their bodies in different parts of the city after chopping them into pieces as a fighting between two groups were, in fact, blaming the innocent people as well that were being done to death in Karachi.

Mr Hussain asked these political scholars to come forward with a clear-cut position instead of trying to hide. He asked them not to provoke the wrath of Almighty Allah for by remaining silent. He said that the so-called scholars making these statements were not worthy of being called religious scholars.

Mr Hussain said that scholars on the path of truth have stood up against tyranny while the scholars given to worldly benefits had always sided with the evil forces. This was the only distinction between the true scholars and the worldly scholars and the Islamic history was witness to it. Mr Hussain sympathized with the mournful families of those Muhajirs, who were slaughtered and hacked down by the bloodthirsty killers. He asked them to bear with patience and fortitude and not get provoked by such inflammatory statements. He said that the Surah “The Hypocrites” has been revealed in the Holy Quran for such elements and the Muslim know very well the meanings of the verses, “The curse of Allah be upon the hypocrites” and “The curse of Allah be upon the liars.”

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that Hazrat Ali was a great personality, and his teachings are an asset for the Muslim Ummah. In a statement on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali, Mr Hussain that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said about Hazrat Ali (RA), “I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate.” He said that the sayings of Hazrat Ali were full of wisdom and a beacon of light for us. It is the need of time that we acted upon the teachings of Hazrat Ali (RA). He said that the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) was a great tragedy and Muslims should hold self-accountability on this day and try to bring a change in our character and way of life.

PROTEST OF CIVIL SOCIETY IN LAHORE OVER SITUATION IN KARACHI IS HEARTENING: MQM

Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has applauded the protest against the inhuman killings of innocent people in recent violent eruptions in Karachi by members of the civil society in Lahore. The Co-ordination Committee thanked the citizens of Lahore for the brave step of raising their voice against bloodshed and violence in Karachi. The protests in Lahore indicated that the civil society in Lahore was sorely concerned about unabated terrorism in Karachi and in other parts of the country. The Co-ordination Committee emphasized upon the need of making concerted efforts for the elimination of terrorism from Karachi and the country at large in order to make Karachi and the whole of the country peaceful. The Co-ordination Committee appealed to the human rights organizations and the civil society to play their role in order to ameliorate the dangerous situation in Karachi.
