AHMED BROHI JOINED MQM AS A MEMBER OF THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO
THE CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE

The renowned Sindhi intellectual 81years old Mr. Ali
Ahmed Brohi came to the Muttahida Quami Movement’s head
office known as Nine Zero at around 8.00 p.m. (pst) to formally
declare his membership of the MQM. Along with the three
deputy convenors of MQM Co-ordination Committee, hundreds of MQM
workers and members of Co-ordination Committee, members of ladies
and elder wings were present to receive him. The MQM
founder and leader Mr. Altaf Hussain talked to him over the
telephone from London. Mr Hussain said that it was a moment of
great pleasure and excitement for me when I learnt that you wish
to join us in the MQM. Your footsteps on MQM head office
will bring blessing and ray of hope for the people of Sindh.
The land of Sindh is in turmoil – it has been deprived,
neglected, thirsty and poor. The Punjabi establishment for
years has usurped the rights of Sindhi peoples, both Urdu and
Sindhi speaking. Your experience and knowledge will guide
us to ways and means of how to save guard the land of Sindh from
the hands of oppressors. It is a proof of our good
intentions and hard work that a person of your standing,
experience and knowledge has honoured us by joining the MQM.

Urdu speaking and
Sindhi speaking people will come to gather and become one. He
appealed to all the educated Sindhi speaking people, brothers and
sisters to consider Muttahida Quami Movement as their own party
that is struggling for the oppressed people of Sindh. He
said that you should come forward and join Muttahida Quami
Movement for the united struggle and save the land of Shah Latif
from oppression. He warned those, who are engaged in
intrigues against the people of Sindh, to desist from their
nefarious design or history of 1971 may be repeated.
Mr. Hussain announced that considering the knowledge and
experience of Mr. Ali Ahmed Brohi I invite him to become a member
of the newly formed Advisory Committee to the MQM Co-ordination
Committee. Mr. Ali Ahmed Brohi said that it would be a
great honour for him to serve as a member of the Advisory
Committee.
Mr. Ali Ahmed Brohi responded that I whole heartedly support the
struggle of Muttahida Quami Movement and it is a great honour for
me that you have invited me and offered me unimaginable
hospitality. While addressing Mr. Hussain, Mr. Brohi said,
“I wish you were here so I could embrace you and kiss your
hand”. He was also profusely grateful to all the
members of MQM present there to receive him and make him feel at
home.
