MQM ORGANIZES ALMI MUSHAIRA IN KARACHI

PART OF THE MQM EFFORTS TO RESTORE LITERARY AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES IN KARACHI

KARACHI: 2ND APRIL 2012:

An “Almi Mushaira” was organized by Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in Annu Bhai Park, Nazimabad, Karachi in connection with its 28th Foundation Day. Noted poets from Pakistan, India, Canada, USA and Bangladesh enthralled the audience with their beautiful poetry.

The Mushaira is also a part of the efforts being made by the MQM to restore literary and cultural activities in Karachi.

Prominent among the poets were Manzar Bhopali and Iqbal Ashar from India, Himayat Ali Shayer from Canada, Jalal Azimabadi from Bangladesh, and Tabish Dehlvi, Sehr Ansari, Anwar Shaoor, Arif Shafeeq, Hassan Akbar Kamal, Tariq Sabzwari, and Gulnar Afrin from Pakistan.

Professor Manzar Ayubi presided over the Mushaira and Rizwan Siddiqui conducted the programme.

Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, and members Wasay Jalil, Wasim Aftab, elected representatives and office-bearers of the MQM were also present on the occasion.

The audience showed keen interest in the Mushaira and the poets were praised for their good poetry.
