GERMAN JOURNALISTS VISIT NINE ZERO

KARACHI: 5TH APRIL 2012:

A delegation of German journalists from Deutscher Pressevertrieb DPV (German Press and Journalists Association) paid a visit to the MQM Head Office Nine Zero and met Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and Senator Mrs Nasreen Jalil. The delegation comprised Ms Hilde Regenitor, Mr Markus Schwarz, and Mr Arnufl Stofel.

Members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Kunwar Khalid Yunus and Senator Mustafa Kamal were also present on the occasion.

Political, economic and financial circumstances of Pakistan came under discussion during the meeting that lasted for over two hours.

Dr Sattar briefed the visiting journalists about the political ideology and philosophy of Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of the MQM and the causes behind the formation of the MQM. He told the delegation about the services of the MQM for strengthening democracy in the country and the efforts being made by the MQM for abolishing the decaying feudal system and culture of hereditary politics.

Dr Sattar also told the delegation about the welfare programmes of the MQM and said that the MQM was the only political party in the country that had its origin and roots in the middle class people.

Dr Sattar said that the MQM was relentlessly pursuing its objective of weeding out the feudal system and hereditary politics with a view to empowering the masses. He said that the feudal system and hereditary politics had done nothing but promoting corruption and sleaze that had thrown the country on the edge of a precipice.

Dr Sattar said that it was because of raising a strong voice against the oppressive feudal system in the country that the MQM was subjected to a repressive state operation during which over 15000 workers of the MQM were killed including the brother and nephew of Mr Hussain extra judicially in a cold-blooded manner.

The delegation expressed sorrow on the injustices done to the MQM and lauded the practical efforts being made by it for promoting democracy in the country.

The delegation also visited the SUN Academy and the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation.
