ARMY SHOULD BE WITHDRAWN FROM NORTH WAZIRISTAN, MEERAN SHAH,
BAJORE AGENCY AND BALOCHISTAN – ALTAF HUSSAIN

ISSUES TO BE RESOLVED THROUGH DIALOGUE

THE PEOPLE OF THESE AREAS TO DEMONSTRATE RESTRAINT AND STOP ARMED ACTIVITIES

 

London – 21st April 2006 MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly demanded the President Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz that to improve the deteriorating situation in country it has now become essential to withdraw the army from North Waziristan, Meeran Shah, Bajore Agency and Balochistan immediately and to resolve all the issues through meaningful and sincere dialogue. The people of tribal areas are Muslims and so are the personnel of Pakistan Army. He also appealed to the disappointed people of North Waziristan, Meeran Shah, Bajore Agency and Balochistan to demonstrate restraint for the sustenance of the country, stop armed activities and resolve all contentious issues through peaceful and meaningful dialogue. He said that he remains optimistic that the people of tribal areas and Balochistan will demonstrate restraint and positively and proactively participate in the negotiation process. He asserted that Army should be deployed at the Pakistan Afghanistan borders but the government must not resort to military action within the country.
